Bolaq Analysts Network “Bolaq”, an organization dedicated to conducting in-depth research and investigations to uncover truths about Afghanistan’s past and present, proudly supports the establishment of an ongoing independent investigative mechanism on international crimes in Afghanistan. This initiative, recently decided by the United Nations Human Rights Council, marks a significant step towards ensuring accountability and justice for the people of Afghanistan.
Bolaq’s mission is deeply rooted in addressing issues of human rights, injustice, and discrimination. We are committed to shedding light on the violations and abuses that have plagued Afghanistan, particularly those affecting women, children, and marginalized communities. The establishment of this mechanism aligns with our core values of justice, peace, and equality, and we are eager to contribute our expertise and resources to support its objectives.
The independent investigative mechanism is tasked with collecting, consolidating, preserving, and analyzing evidence of international crimes and the most serious violations of international law committed in Afghanistan. It aims to prepare files to facilitate fair and independent criminal proceedings in national, regional, or international courts or tribunals. Bolaq stands ready to assist the United Nations in its research and documentation efforts, ensuring that the voices of victims and survivors are heard and that perpetrators are held accountable.
Bolaq recognizes the urgent need for a comprehensive, multidimensional, survivor- and victim-centered approach to accountability efforts in Afghanistan. We are committed to working alongside the United Nations and other international bodies to ensure that justice is served and that the human rights of all people of Afghanistan are upheld.
As we move forward, Bolaq remains steadfast in its dedication to promoting justice, peace, and equality in Afghanistan. We call upon the international community to join us in supporting this vital initiative and to continue advocating for the rights and dignity of all individuals affected by the ongoing crisis in Afghanistan.
